Chicago Fittings New is Hiring a Production Scheduler Near Beloit, WI

SUMMARY

Maintain proper levels of finished goods and work in process inventories through the use of company ERP, scheduling programs and analytical processes. Establish production plans and schedules, execute plans, and follow up. Analyze procedures for product movement. Facilitate all facets of the procurement process from vendor selection to closing completed purchase orders with emphasis on supplier relations and negotiations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Adhere to all company policies and procedures and ensure coworkers do also.

  • Determine, compile, and publish/communicate daily and weekly production schedules.
  • Prepare job travelers, prints, and help with other documentation needs for employees to perform their job duties.
  • Balance production jobs.
  • Provide updated costs(costed BOM) for quotes.
  • Utilize and maintain the scheduling board in company ERP program.
  • Communicate and coordinate all requirements for production with supervision.
  • Maintain monthly reports for scrap, charge summaries, parts produced, and material handling.
  • Analyze and optimize setup by scheduling jobs with similar setups and tooling consecutively.
  • Perform and be capable to train others in all types of inventory transactions associated with job receipt to inventory, rework to inventory, and stock to stock transfers.
  • Lead and ensure job closing process and associated inventory is accurate.
  • Maintain proper levels of finished goods and work in process inventories as directed by the sales and operations planning process through the use of the ERP software and other company programs. Review and convert planned jobs into firm jobs as generated through MRP.
  • Place purchase orders as required based on the demand for finished goods and component parts. This includes reviewing forecast accuracy, production and stocking, lead-times, etc. and establishing purchase order quantities and required delivery dates; verifying available components and expediting as necessary; and releasing and scheduling production orders to the shop floor.
  • Review requisitions and enter purchase orders for all company supplies.
  • Take accountability for assigned products from raw material to finished goods. This may include direct contact with vendors and/or production floor to prioritize or expedite needed materials.
  • Review various product classes and identify those items requiring priority planning.
  • Formulate documents/reports as required to tabulate and track finished goods and work in process data. Track component usage on new items where historical data is not yet available.
  • Review and implement engineering change orders for new and revised components. Serve as a member of change order team to aid engineering in the faster execution of the desired changes.
  • Purchase commodities, production and non-production items assigned.
  • Establish permanent freight carriers with a vendor and send out routing letters.
  • Update computer programs with current data, such as, new prices, description changes, vendor changes, etc. Train employees on purchasing programs as required.
  • Expedite past due orders and coordinate quality, price, and delivery issues with vendors.
  • Process return goods and production part rejections by calling vendor for return authorization or sending out required forms and letters.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend suppliers capable of providing quality components and services.
  • Resolve quality issues with the suppliers of products and services.
  • Establish cost-saving ideas for the company and promote interactions between materials management, production, engineering, purchasing and our suppliers.
  • Understand the implications of supply chain contracts and legalities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
  • Some travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A thorough working knowledge of fittings & riser assembly operations.
  • Process development and troubleshooting.

  • Process development and controls.
  • Assembly shop equipment operation.
  • Contract and negotiation savvy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college OR university; and 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred. APICS or other related certifications a plus.
